Hammurabi
Hammurabi s code was a set of written down laws made by a Babylonian king by the name of Hammurabi. He used what is called Cuneiform which was the first form of writing. He used this to write down his laws on clay tablets, so that everyone could read them and know what was was against the law. Some of his laws included the famous sayings " an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth" These basically stated that if you knocked someones tooth out yours would also be knocked out.During the time of these laws everyone followed them because they were scared of the consequences.
